Manchester United are set for a massive summer squad sanitation after a failed 2015/16 campaign and two of their big summer signings reportedly face Old Trafford exit.
According to the Sun, flamboyant Dutch forward Memphis Depay and French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin are set to be jettisoned regardless of whether Louis van Gaal remains at the helm or not.
Depay has been a major disappointment since the attacker arrived at the club after winning the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven.
United spent a reported £31 million to bring the 21-year-old to the north but Depay has failed to impress, managing just two goals in 23 Premier League games.
Also lately, Depay has been somewhat marginalised by his compatriot van Gaal, with the Dutch coach preferring to use youngsters such as Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford on the left-flank.
Meanwhile, the potential exit of Schneiderlin is more of a surprise, with the former Southampton midfield dynamo demonstrating that he could be an ideal long-term successor for Michael Carrick but the club have been strongly linked with 18-year-old Benfica playmaker Renato Sanches.
Regardless of how it goes down this summer, the Red Devils will definitely offload series of their under-performing players as they prepare for life under rumoured incoming new boss Jose Mourinho.
